• in 1981 I started researching the histories of my family and my husbands’ family
• over the next few years, to gain more extensive experience, I also traced the families of friends and work colleagues
• taught my first Family History for Beginners’ class in 1994

My research continued until 1996, at which time I decided to take the next step and began to turn
my interest in family history into my profession

• I completed the requirements set by the Australasian Association of Genealogists and Record Agents to be a
  Genealogist and Record Agent and remained a member of  AAGRA for 8 years
• Began studying for the Associate Diploma of Local & Applied History at the University of New England
• Became a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists remaining a part of that association even today
• In 1998 I attained my Diploma at UNE and I continue to research family history for clients and teach Family History Courses
